Lactishoe

The Footwear Technology Center of La Rioja is working on the development of insoles and shoe linings containing lactic acid. The aim of the project Lactishoe will be to develop a new range of footwear products with improved health properties through the microencapsulation of lactic acid. Usually, lactic acid is an industrial leftover in the production of cheese; however, it has regenerative, moisturizing and softening properties on the skin. Through the creation of microcapsules containing this active substance, shoe lining and insoles can be developed with the regenerative, moisturizing and softening properties provided through the lactic acid.
