{slide=Advice on Ecodesign. Product redesign|closed|}

The CTCR pretends with this service to progressively incorporate the Ecodesign concept into the company structure. The strategic methodology of Ecodesign minimizes the environmental impact linked to the life cycle of a product, optimizes the resources and reduces the costs.

To summarize, the process consists of an analysis of the life cycle of a product or service through a quantitative tool to discover the environmental impact in each phase of its life. Once the results have been analyzed, strategies for improvement are determined and applied in the redesign of the corresponding product or service.

{slide=Analysis of components and complete shoe}

A complete series of analyses of the components and the complete shoe are carried out so as to confirm the compliance of materials and their quality, to anticipate the consumer demands of constant innovation; to generate trends and eventually to launch new product lines.

{slide=Biomechanics and podology applied to shoe design}

The objective of this service is to identify the technical characteristics and patterns required to ensure comfort for end users regardless of their shoe usage. It is necessary to introduce biomechanical concepts into the shoe design to get a soft, flexible and comfortable product allowing natural foot movement. Also, aspects and characteristics of different pathologies will be taken into consideration should the product be designed for a specific segment or market (diabetics, elderly people, etc).

{slide=Certification of Individual Protection Equipment (IPE's)}

{slide=Computer controlled Pattern, design, digitizing and scaling}

This service is aimed at assisting companies in the design and scaling of models to create a collection responding to the latest fashion trends indicated by the sector.

In this way, trends are categorized according to the market they are addressed to and, jointly with the company; the design of models belonging to a specific collection is drafted in paper format.  Once models and the patterns have been defined, we proceed to digitalizing, quartering and scaling the corresponding pieces according to the different variations of size requested by the client. In order to perform this stage, the department of design counts on a very innovative and efficient tool in the market. It identifies, one year in advance, the key trends to look for the following season. Also, advanced software is used in the footwear industry to create the quartering and scaling of the models.

{slide=Control and analysis of waste}

{slide=Processing and management of public funding and tax incentives}

The main objective is to collaborate with companies so as to simplify the application process and management of public funding, state or European, and the tax incentives by providing them with our expertise and know-how in the field.

One of the main functions is to identify projects subject to receiving public funding and tax incentives. Afterwards, the CTCR gives the company technical and administrative advice so as to accurately plan the project according to those aspects most beneficial to the company and obtain funding from the corresponding local, national or European institution. Then, the application documentation is elaborated with a detailed economic and technical plan to find interested partners to join and complement the project, if required. The CTCR cooperates with the company in the distribution of documents to the public institution and the follow-up of its progress.

Once the public funding assignation has been formally published, the CTCR can assist the company to appeal should the application be denied, or to process the acceptance, should the application be admitted. Finally, the CTCR assures the follow-up of the file throughout the period of the project and requests time and funding extensions if necessary.

{slide=Reports from national and international fashion fairs and store displays}

Thanks to these documentaries we can visualize and revise the fashion trends and know-how from the main fashion capitals in the world. This is a very productive way of obtaining information from the most relevant national and international fashion gatherings. We can easily get detailed information of products; contact information of clients, textile providers, footwear manufacturers, tailoring companies, etc

Furthermore, photos from the most relevant fashion shows are categorized and classified every month so as to facilitate a snapshot of the different key looks of each season.

{slide=Specialized training}

Training is one of the most important resources a company counts on. Also, it is an aspect that applies to all employees of any organization. Due to the high cost required, some smaller companies neglect training. Many others simply ignore the multiple possibilities to provide their employees with training partially financed by the government and miss out their education credit annually assigned. This credit is assigned through the Social Security system and the Tripartite Foundation. All organizations pay contributions towards professional training and are able to recover a percentage of their payment the following year so as to provide their employees with training. The CTCR offers all types of consulting on this matter.

{slide=Tailor-made footwear manufacturing}

The CTCR prioritizes the response to requirements of those consumers that have non-standard foot characteristics and who take longer to find suitable footwear. In this case, the CTCR creates a tailor-made last for each client and manufactures the footwear depending on the working activity the client is performing.

The process is initiated by taking exhaustive measurements from both feet so as to create the lasts and patterns according to the client's indications. Finally, the pair of shoes is manufactured and tested on the client.

{slide=Technological supervision}

{slide=Tests on Individual Protection Equipments (IPE's) for professional-use footwear}

Tests are carried out on the Individual Protection Equipment and, specifically, on professional-use footwear. The objective of this action is to evaluate conformity in the workplace and the control of this type of manufactured equipment.

{slide=The 3D last digitizing}

There is sometimes a physical model but it is not the case for the 3D digital version file required for its manufacturing. The reverse engineering process allows the creation of a digital copy of the product and the creation of tridimensional geometry. The department of Prototyping offers a service to digitalize lasts, soles and insoles through a last digitizing laser specifically developed for shoe applications.  The department also offers technical consulting on 2D and 3D design, sole and insole scaling as well as the generation of files with both dimensions from the draft or the file.

{slide=Trendhelp: analysis of fashion trends}

The main goal is to identify one year in advance the coming fashion trends in the sector and to provide companies with the necessary information to start planning the upcoming collection. In so doing, both the CTCR and a specific company can organize the material research, colour and shape guidelines to support the design of the final collection.

The Design and Fashion department counts on a specialized tool in the analysis of world wide fashion trends, providing it with very detailed information on the main catwalk events and classified by designers and by seasons. You can also find reports on the principal cities of the world and the type of ‘look’ that people wear every season.
