The Footwear Technology Centre website has been designed following the accessibility guidelines set forth by the W3C, and focusing on coherence to make navigation easier for the user. The website is divided into 5 sections, to which the user has access at any time from the upper menu. Breadcrumbs allow the user to trace a path back to the homepage from the section he is visiting.
Most browsers have been taken into account in order to make navigation easier when using any of them.
All the images and links in the website have a description that indicates what is being displayed or to where the links go.

The website has been designed using layers (no tables have been used) to improve visualization with every screen resolution. Em units have been used to scale the text, so the use can enlarge it if desired.
The site's layout and design has been achieved by using three style sheets. When these style sheets are not used, the site maintains an optimum readability.
Flash films are only used in the website layout, but the user does not need to use them to access to any section. All the flash films have an image substitute should flash not be available on the viewers machine.
